Toshiba Corporation has just entered into an agreement with United Technologies Corp for strengthening and boosting strategic collaboration through the JV Toshiba Carrier Corp. "The agreement outlines the next stage of cooperation between Toshiba and UTC in the field of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning solutions through TCC," Toshiba said in a statement quoted by ET.

United Technologies Corporation and the Japanese engineering and electronics corporate group are now taking their joint venture collaboration to an international level with this move. Efforts are on to provide building equipment and maintenance services which are energy efficient in every corner of the world.

The joint venture of Toshiba and Carrier which is a unit of United Technologies, Toshiba Carrier is already well known in Japan. Both companies are now aiming to ensure that the reach of the JV extends across the entire globe.

The JV already has dominance in engineered commercial air conditioning solutions and the agreement seeks to strengthen and reinforce existing strategic partnerships. It will also focus on boosting and enhancing international growth in the area of HVAC systems and solutions namely heating, ventilating and air conditioners.

This new partnership will work in the favor of both companies, according to analysts quoted in media reports. Toshiba's strength lies in lighting, energy management and batteries whereas United Technologies Corp focuses on numerous group businesses such as well known elevator manufacturer Otis as well as air conditioning company Carrier and aerospace company Pratt & Whitney, to name a few.

Unique technologies of both the companies will be integrated to ensure that energy saving air conditioners as well as energy efficient lighting fixtures, elevators and other types of important equipment are readily available. Initiatives like these could help to solve the current energy crises being faced in different parts of the world.
