Who makes a country: Government or People?

PM Narendra Modi addressed 1.25 billion people of India at the Allphones Arena in Olympic Park in Sydney. He received massive reception in Australia where he said that it just takes one night to reach Australia. However, it took 28 years for an Indian PM to come to Australia. While addressing to the public he said that it is not the government that makes a country. It is the people who make a country. Do you agree with PM Modi? Who makes a country: Government or People?

Government

• Good governance makes for the success or the failure of any country’s economy. The government is the disciplinary base of the country.

• Why it is said that if government is corrupt, people suffer, because ultimately it is the government who works for the people.

• The most important aspect of any country is financial performance, and it is not controlled by people, but by government.

• Raghuram Rajan, who became governor of RBI in September 2013, successfully brought inflation to lower levels.

• The country has suffered a lot in form of many scams under UPA rule. So, it is the government who exploits or creates the fate of any country.

People

• A nation is at brink of fall if the people are not getting their basic necessities fulfilled leading to a dismal economic scenario.

• It is the people’s money coming in the form of taxes that is used by the government for overall development process.

• A government is formed by people and therefore it is ultimately the people who work for welfare of country.

• Going back in the past, when India was not free, it was Mahatma Gandhi who created a history and paved way for a modern India.

• Going by the general definition of democracy, it is by the people, for the people and of the people. Without people, there is no democracy and without it there is no government.

Conclusion

It won’t be wrong to say that government and people are closely linked to each other. It is the people who make a government and it is the government who runs the country. Both are the important pillars of a country. It is important for the people to be aware before selecting a government and it is the duty of the government to work in an honest way to provide better services and facilities to the people. So, it is the government as well as the people who together make a country.

  • India is a democratic country, government basicaly does the job of correction as u mentioned about Raghuram Rajan, he does correction to control inflation, help the needy poor people, protect citizen but major role is played by citizens.
Citizen is owner of a country, he selects the government employee .
Hence a citizen runs the country with the help of its government employee.
A citizen can ask government to work, citizen can give ideas, citizen can guide and demand as well. Initiatives like mygov website can bridge the gap.
But utmost important role is of recruiting the right person and monitoring our government employees.
Maybe when things not going right these citizen have to go on field that is entering politics and getting the things done appropriately.

  • India being a democracy, is rightly for the people, by the people and of the people. But there is always a need of a governing body to pave the ways for a systematic and logical approach towards the functioning of the guidelines set. Hence it can be laid that the government is just a medium to convey and conduct the requirements and look after public welfare which is again formed by the people themselves. Hence its on mutual grounds among the people and the government to look forward to a better and smooth functioning of the system. On a concluding note i would add, No government can act well unless the people are actually ready to confront the issues, rather people on the other hand are dependent on the government for the approval and conduct of the decisions. Hence its therefore a Mutual aspect of our countries functioning system.

  • A country been made out with the decision of 70% of people and 30% of government, because the people of the country elect and choose there government who will be responsible to make the country and the rest is government who been elected for making of the country with the confident of safe and smooth country.

  • A country is like a society in big scale. No management or group makes a society. Similarly, it is not the government that makes a country, but the people that runs a country. People make Government and it is in their hand to choose their management. India being a democratic nation, it’s citizens have more power than the Government. It is the people who need to understand their position, power and authority in running a country.

It is not only regarding the rule, but running a country starts from each and every individual, their family, society and linked so on. If every citizen honestly perform their share of duties, that would be fair enough for an efficient functioning of the country. All that is required is commitment, honesty and integrity towards our duties and responsibilities.

Any Government can just work as an aid or help to streamline the large population. It cannot pronounce the whole country. Our country is like a bunch of flowers with different colour and fragrance bundled up. This unique combination cannot be revealed by a single flower and a combination of 2-3 flowers. Hence, it is the people who need to realize their duties towards the country.
