Pune’s Michelle Kakade has secured a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first person to complete the Indian Golden Quadrilateral on foot. - She is a 47 year old resident of the city and took 193 days, one hour and 9 minutes to complete the journey between 21 October 2015 and 1 May, 2016.
- She is also in the Guinness World Records for covering 5968.4 km of Golden Quadrilateral connecting 4 major metros of the country.

Rohit Khandelwal won the Mr. World 2016 title on 19th July 2016. - Grand finale of the Mr. World 2016 was held in Southport Theatre and Convention Centre in Southport UK.
- He became the first Asian and Indian to win the Mr. World title at the competition.
- Mr World 2014-2015 Nicklas Pedersen passed the title onto Rohit.
- Khandelwal also won the cash prize of USD 50,000.
- Puerto Rico’s Fernando Alberto Alvarez Soto was named the first runner-up and Aldo Esparza Ramirez of Mexico was named the second runner-up.
