▼ US recognises India as major defence partner [06-13-16]
This classification will allow India to buy more advanced and sensitive technologies from the U.S. - This U.S. move will be complemented by India’s entry into the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), an exclusive club that restricts trade in sensitive defence technologies.
- The U.S. has also declared that it will be its “strong objective to have India voted as a member “of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), another export control regime, later this month.
- Announcement of a framework for the U.S.-India Cyber Relationship was hailed by the U.S. official as a unique and first of its kind agreement that the U.S. has reached with any country.

▼ North Atlantic Treaty Organisation members and partners launch Anaconda 16 Exercise [06-10-16]
The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) members and partners on 6 June 2016 launched Anaconda-16 Exercise, the biggest ever joint military exercise in Poland. - The drill is part of NATO's exercise program and is being held just weeks before NATO's summit in Warsaw that is expected to decide that significant numbers of NATO troops and equipment will be based in Poland and in the Baltic states.
- The exercise was launched at the crucial time when central and eastern European nations are seeking strong security guarantees amid concerns about Russia.
- The exercise is organised and coordinated by Poland's military Operational Command.

▼ All India Women Journalists Workshop to be held [06-7-16]
- Around 250 journalists from 30 States/UTs across the country, representing 120 media organisations will come together on a single platform at the first ever ‘All India Women Journalists’ Workshop’ organised by Ministry of Women and Child Development in association with Press Information Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in New Delhi on June 7
- The women journalists represent print, electronic and online media across the country including small regional media organisations.
- This Conference will be a unique gathering of women journalists, who specialise in social sector reporting, coming together to understand, discuss and deliberate on issues concerning women and children.
