Harry Wu, campaigner for human rights in China, passed away on 26th April 2016 in Honduras. He was 79.

• He was imprisoned till 42 for criticising Chairman Mao
• He also took up visiting scholar post at University of California, Berkeley

Well known Kerala cartoonist VT Thomas known as Toms passed away on 27th April 2016

• He was 86 at the time of his death and is survived by his wife Thresyakutty and children Boban, Molly, Rani, Peter, Bose, Princy.
• He created legendary cartoon characters Boban and Molly
• He resigned from Malayala Manorama in 1987 and began his own publication.

Former Thai PM Banham Sila-archa died on April 23rd 2016 in Bangkok.

• The former PM was 83 years old and his tenure saw the Thai economic collapse in the 1990s
• He was the 21st PM of Thailand (1994-1996) and elected 11 times to the Parliament
• He also masterminded several Thai political coalitions

Amanullah Khan, a founder of the JKLF leading a campaign for independent Kashmir died. He has been involved in incidents such as the death of Indian diplomat and hijacking of IA plane to Lahore

• He died due to complications of a lung disease
• A prominent Kashmiri leader, he was London based before being deported to Pakistan.
• Khan had set up JKLF in 1977.

Well known director Guy Hamilton who directed 4 James Bond movies passed away on 20th April 2016 in Mallorca, a Spanish island. He was 93 years old at this time. He created vintage James Bond movies starring Roger Moore and Sean Connery.

Pop superstar Prince widely hailed as one of the most inventive musicians of his era was found dead on April 21 in suburban Minneapolis

• He was 5’2 in height and known for his well known albums like Sign O The Times, Graffiti Bridge and The Black Album.

British comedian Victoria Wood whose sketch shows and sitcoms blended playfulness and social observation has died at the age of 62. She succumbed to cancer.

• Wood got her break in 1974 winning the TV talent contest "New Faces."
• She had her own TV show in the 1980s with "Victoria Wood as Seen on TV.”
• Wood also created and starred in the late-1990s sitcom "Dinner ladies," which featured a mostly female cast.

Bill Campbell, a legendary mentor to some of Silicon Valley’s most important entrepreneurs and executives including Steve Jobs and Larry Page, has died at age 75. He had been suffering from cancer.

• Mr. Campbell, who served as president, chief executive and chairman of financial software maker Intuit Inc., became far better known for advising tech leaders. T
• This activity earned him the nickname, “The Coach.”
• Campbell is survived by his wife, Eileen Bocci Campbell, as well as his son and daughter, Jim Campbell and Margaret Campbell.

Hero Cycles patriarch Satyanand Munjal, 99, passed away at his residence in Model Town in Ludhiana.

• Known as ‘Mahatma’, Munjal was a much-respected corporate leader.
• He was also member of the Arya Samaj and the eldest of Munjal brothers

Ex Union Minister C. Silvera has passed away due to a massive stroke and is survived by his wife and three sons. He was born in the 1930s and holds an MBBS degree from Christian Medical College in Vellore. He was elected to the 9th, 10th and 11th LS. Afterwards, he was inducted as union minister of state for health and family welfare and afterwards allowed industry portfolio.

Smt. Kamla Advani , L.K. Advani’s wife passed away on 6th April. PM and President sent their condolences to the family.
