▼ Shangri La Dialogue starts in Singapore [05-17-15]
The annual meeting of 14th Asia Security Summit, Shangri-La Dialogue is started in Singapore and will continue till May 31. The US Defense Secretary Ash Carter as well as senior Chinese military officials will attend the meeting. US Defence officials said Washington wants Southeast Asian nations to take a more united stance against China's rapid acceleration this year of construction on disputed reefs.

The Khangchendzonga National Park was reportedly selected as one of the top 100 Green destinations in the world last year, while a proposal to nominate it as a World Heritage Site has been posed to the UNESCO. The conference assumes significance in view of a proposal from the State Government for declaration of the Kanchenjungha National Park as a World heritage site remains under consideration of the UNESCO.
