I have just completed my 12th PCMB and joined the engineering branch. Someone told me about a new course called Audio Engineering. Is there any such course study available in India for post-graduation? If so, what are its job prospects?

Yes, there is a course called Audio or Sound Engineering. This is a aptitude based field which revolves around different types and frequency of sounds, music etc. Students who have creativity and interest can perform well in this area of study. Students who have PCM in 12th are eligible for this course. Very few colleges in India offer this course namely:

- FTII Pune
- MGR Government Film and Television Institute, Chennai
- The School of Audio Engineering, Chennai
- The Harmonics School of Audio Technology, Hyderabad
The career of sound engineers are more in industry that involves sound in the day to day work. Some of the employment areas of Sound engineers are:
- Film Industry
- Advertisements
- Documentaries
- Acoustics in-charge in places like auditoriums, concert halls, studios etc.
