I am interested in jewellery designing. I came across the course in ‘Gemology’. What is this course meant for? How to pursue it and what are its job prospects?

Gemology is a separate field of study and different from jewelry designing. Gemology is a branch of science that deals with the study of natural and artificial gemstones. It is a geoscientific study which is considered to be a part of mineralogy and deals with genesis and physical characteristics of gem stones. It helps to identify the precious stones by their refractive index, specific gravity and spectroscopical studies etc.
