Does Indian Railways accept the IGNOU degree?

I am a BA History (Hons) graduate from IGNOU. Can I apply for the various posts in Indian railway Network like Assistant Manager or Goods Guard etc.?

The Indian Railway Network comes up with two types of vacancies – the technical posts and second, the non-technical posts. The technical posts usually demands a 12th pass in science stream with Physics and Maths as subjects, and B.Sc Physics in the graduation ; or ITI in computer networking / data networking. The technical field requisites might not match for a BA History (Hons) student.

The non-technical posts usually ask for graduation or matriculation pass with or without typing proficiency. The selection criteria largely is based on the basis of written tests. The criteria may change according to the number of candidates applying for the posts and the requirements of the job profile. Some vacancies are filled only on the basis of written tests, some has interview session following written exam and few others have to undergo skill test following the written examination. The written examination has multiple choice questions. The graduation is accepted from any authorised university and college.
