Electro Technical officer course is a 17 week full time course which trains students regarding the role of Electro Technical Officer on board in Merchant navy Ships. The candidates need to meet the educational qualifications, age limit, physical and medical test standards to get admission to this course.

The education qualification is a minimum Diploma or BE/ B Tech in Electronic or Electrical engineering. Students must have completed their 12th standard from Science stream with PCM as subjects and passed the same with minimum of 50%, with minimum 60% in case of Diploma degree and 50% in case of BE or B Tech degree to become eligible. Age limit should be less than 35 years. The physical fitness is tested according to the Merchant Navy norms and that is followed by the Medical tests to comply to the laid down standards.
