I have passed my 12th standard with PCB. I am preparing for the medical entrance examinations. How should I proceed to become a heart surgeon?

It is the right start to prepare for the pre-medical test or the entrance examinations for the medical field. The very first step is to join the medical college for the MBBS course. For that the student need to clear the All India Pre-medical test (AIPMT) which is conducted in 2 rounds viz. prelims and mains. Students can also check for any other entrance exam conducted for MBBS course by individual institutes.

After clearing the medical entrance, students need to complete the course of MBBS for 5 and half years including 1 year internship, following which they get awarded with the MBBS degree. The MBBS course offers the basic medical study of all the topics and students can opt for the specialization in the field of interest in their post-graduation. To become a heart surgeon, students need to pursue MS in cardiology. If students are not much specific about surgery in heart but more interested in the study of heart, they can also pursue MD in cardiology. Aspirants interested in further higher qualifications can also do DM in cardiology.
