I have completed my 12th standard and applying for graduation. Still, I want to know whether there is any possibility of becoming a commercial pilot just after 12th. I am a 12th science pass out. Is it necessary to be a graduate to become a commercial pilot?

Graduation is not a mandatory requirement to become commercial pilot. Students from science stream having physics and maths as subjects in 12th standard are considered for the commercial pilot training. But, graduation in related field like aeronautical engineering or aerospace science etc are considered better over a 12th pass candidate when it comes to the employment opportunities in some of the airlines. However, there are many other airlines which does not pose any such criteria and look out for a better performing candidate from the commercial pilot training.
To become a commercial pilot, one requires CPL or the Commercial Pilot Licence which is issued when the candidates clear the training program from DGCA (Institute recognized by the Civil Aviation Authority. To join this CPL training, along with the educational requirement, students also need to clear the physical and medical fitness criteria and have a 6/6 vision. The students need to clear a Pilot Aptitude Test which is conducted as written examination, Interview and Aptitude Tests. Those ho get through all these criteria are admitted to the CPL training program following which the students can apply at various airlines to become a commercial pilot.
