Inappropriate salary for experience

I am having a work experience of 7 years and the interviewer wants an explanation for my lower salary for my experience. How should I justify my stand? There is no specific reason, just that the salary drawn is enough to live a decent lifestyle.

This is the place where interviewer tries to hit the candidate with their weakness. This is not the situation to escape with the defensive arguments. Everyone likes to earn a better salary package. The candidate need to be smart enough to convert their weakness to strength with their confidence.

Though money is an important aspect, yet there are many who like to work for interest, who value their career and field of interest more over salary, and few others who work just to keep themselves occupied. The candidate can pick up any such reason to explain their choice for work in their past and explain their ability and experience to perform and win over any sort of work accomplished in the past. Here, the candidate should not leave an impression that money is nothing. Do mention that a handsome package is always expected, but the work is always focussed for the benefit of the organization. Candidate need to confidently explain the interviewer that good experience and career growth is all that they gained keeping salary structure at stake and now they have enough experience to apply for any such reputed organizations and work for the betterment of the organization.
