I have completed my 12th PCB and taken admission for Diploma in pharmacy at College of Pharmacy. Is there any possibility for me to get lateral entry in Bachelor of Pharmacy after completing my Diploma course?

Yes, it is possible to pursue Bachelor in Pharmacy after completing the diploma in the same field. Diploma in Pharmacy and Bachelor in Pharmacy both can be pursued after completing 12th standard with PCB. Bachelor of Pharmacy is considered better over the Diploma course in pharmacy. Unlike diploma, bachelor in pharmacy is a full term undergraduate course.

Diploma in Pharmacy or D Pharma is a 2 years course, whereas Bachelor In Pharmacy or B Pharma is of 4 years duration. This course is like any other professional course and gives entry to the pharma industry for its students. It is often found that the D Pharma students seek entry to the Bachelor’s program after completion of their diploma degree. The D Pharma students can get entry to the second year in the B Pharma course. The students are admitted on the basis of merit and availability of seats in the second year.
