I am a commerce student. How should I prepare for the CDS exam?

CDS or the Combioned Defense services is a good career option to proceed with. This exam includes tests on 3 subjects viz English, General Knowledge and Mathematics.

The preparation tips for the English subject are:

• Knowledge of basic comprehension skills
• Making a regular habit of reading newspapers and magazines to increase vocabulary
• Knowledge of basic grammar
• Practising previous years question papers

For preparing General Knowledge:
• Reading newspapers regularly
• Going through the news media and updating current affairs daily
• Read Indian Polity
• Having basic knowledge of the subjects like History, geography, Civics, Economics, Science etc.
• Practising previous years question papers.

To prepare the Mathematics
• Students should have sound knowledge of the elementary level maths
• Practicing more and more questions not just for the knowledge, but also for the effective time management
• Go through previous years question papers to know the question patterns and weightage of different topics.
