Scope after clearing UGC-NET

I have completed PGDM Marketing and preparing for UGC-NET. I am looking forward to a career in teaching. Guide me about the scope and prospects after clearing UGC-NET.

Clearing UGC-NET is not an easy task. This should be attempted by only those who have passion for teaching. Teaching field becomes difficult to carry on for those who lack interest into the field. Candidates should not go ahead with UGC-NET exam just to get a good salary along with better job prospects.

After clearing the UGC-NET, candidates can either go for Fellowship programs or take up as lecturer or professor. The candidate should not exceed the age limit of 28 years to be eligible for Junior Research Fellowship program. However, the candidates can go ahead with their career as a lecturer in any college or university. The various designations of the posts that becomes eligible after clearing UGC-NET are:
- Fellowship
- Lecturer
- Assistant Professor – Junior
- Assistant Professor – Senior
- Assistant Professor – Selection grade
- Associate Professor etc.
