I'm looking out for a new job. Is it OK to use the existing company's logo in my resume?

Using a company’s logo without consent is illegal. Logos are protected by Intellectual property and trademark laws. Using these logos without permission would be infringement of the law. The logos can be used only after getting the written consent from the company authorised officials.
Since the logo in the resume is mostly used by the candidates for those companies that they have either served in the past or the existing ones, it does not affect the company in any form and the companies don’t take action against this. But, this does not rule out the fact that the law is infringed and it turns out to be illegal.
Even otherwise, the use of logos is not appreciated by some employers who stick to the conventional resume format. Again, the resume should look professional and adding logo should not give it a jazzy appearance. Logos are usually coloured and tend to lose their texture and smart look in a photocopied or reprinted format. Candidates should avoid making their resume look substandard, in an attempt to seek the employer attention.
