What other companies are you interviewing with?Asked by: Guest

It is very obvious that an applicant who is hunting for the job is going through number of interviews. How honestly should I answer to this question? I don’t want to annoy the interviewer and narrow my scope of getting selected.

Again, this is an obvious thing that the applicants must be hunting a lot many places for similar profiles and coming across interviews. The answer to this question should be affirmative. Saying a ‘No’ would create two suspicions; either the candidate is not deserving enough for the job profile, or the candidate is not honest in his replies. Also the ‘No’ is like adding the strength of the interviewer and allowing them to take a upper hand. Both the conditions would deviate the interview in a negative course. Interviewer usually asks this question to rule out the scope of competition, the keen interest of the candidate in the profile, and the expectancy of choosing or losing a star candidate.
When interviewing with the competitors, never use the word ‘competitors’. Frame the answer like more interviews in similar profile. But remember to add spice and show your excitement to work with this organization. If you are interviewing in other fields, prepare your answer to explain the variety of fields. Knit all the applied profiles in a common loop with your requirements to search for such varied fields. Even if not interviewing, reply like the job search has been just started and initiated with this company.
