With low percentage in 12th boards, should I repeat my 12th standard?

I have scored very low in my 12th boards (73%). I wanted to pursue Biotechnology as career. Am I still eligible for the entrance tests or should I consider repeating a year in the 12th standard?

It is always advisable to march ahead in future and don’t try to repeat the past footprints. You might excel in the repeated attempt. But, there are chances for having a similar score again, as nothing is so firmly predictable. Also, repeating the same class in the same school means studying with your juniors. The repetition of the year is on majority taken up only by the failed students. A similar tag to a passed student might demoralize the student and this might affect the performance to a great extent.

The undergraduate courses in biotechnology are usually taken on the basis of entrance examinations. The eligibility criteria is usually around 60% in majority of the institutes. 73% is a good score for applying for the entrance examination. Any student applying above the basic required percentage is considered at same level as the students are admitted solely on the basis of entrance examination alone. It would be a wise option to go ahead with the preparation for entrance examination rather than thinking of repeating the year.
