    - Allowance is defined as the quantity obtained due the difference between LLH and ULS
    Allowance = (Lower limit hole – Upper limit shafts)

    - Allowance represents minimum clearance for clearance fits and is always positive. Clearance fits have positive difference between the size of hole and shaft. This clearance may be maximum or minimum.

    - Allowance represents maximum interference for interference fits and is always negative. In interference fits, two parts are fastened or pushed together by means of friction.
