    1. Decide what is to be re-engineered. Is it whole software or a part of it?

    2. Perform Reverse Engineering, in order to obtain specifications of existing software.

    3. Restructure Program if it is required. For example, changing function-oriented programs into object-oriented programs.

    4. Re-structure data as per the requirements.

    5. Apply Forward engineering concepts to obtain the re-engineered software.
