BJT operates in an active region for the amplification purpose while it operates in cut-off and saturation regions for switching applications. Therefore, the amplification can never be performed by BJT in cut-off and saturation regions.
On the contrary,E- MOSFET undergoes its operation in saturation region as far as the function of amplification is concerned. Besides this, MOSFET operates in an ohmic and cut-off regions for the switching-based applications.
