Chan’s megastick or Phaebeticus Chani was discovered two years in southern Chinese province of Guangxi. The Insect Museum of China announced the stick insect measuring 62.4 cm has broken the record for the world’s longest insect among the 807625 known insects.
  • The previous record-holder was a Malaysian 56.7-centimeter-long stick insect discovered in 2008. One of its specimen is on display in London’s Natural History Museum.
