    Steam turbine is a rotary machine which is designed to convert energy of high pressure and high temperature steam into mechanical power.

    Considering some advantages of steam turbine,

    1. It does not require large floor space. It can fit into small area because it has low weight to power ratio.

    2. The speed of turbine is high due to high pressure and high temperature steam entering into turbine.

    3. Steam turbine has low weight to power ratio as power generated from high temperature and high pressure steam into low weight turbine is much more.

    4. Steam turbine has low initial cost as well as maintenance cost, as it does not require any other external equipments than turbine to generate power.
