- α brass is suitable for cold and deep drawing operations.
- The plastic deformation of metals below the recrystallization temperature is called as cold working.
- Cold rolling increases strength and also improves surface finish.
Deep drawing
- It is a sheet metal forming process in which, mechanical action of a punch is used to radially draw sheet metal blank to form a die. It is a shape transformation process.
- This process is called as “deep drawing” when the depth of the drawn part exceeds its diameter.
