    - Configuration control is the name of the process which will ensure that different versions of the system and its components are recorded and maintained.

    - It is an important function of the software configuration management (SCM).

    - It ensures that all the changes of the complex system are performed well with the appropriate knowledge.

    - Tasks of the configuration control are as follows:

      - Initiating
      - Preparing
      - Analyzing
      - Evaluating
      - Authorizing

    Configuration control processes :

    It has four main processes.

      - 1. Identification and documentation of the need for a change in a change request.
      - 2. Analysis and evaluation of a change request and production of a change proposal.
      - 3. Approval or disapproval of a change process.
      - 4. Verification, implementation and release of a change.
