Specifications are mainly divided into application specifications, enclosure specifications and environment specifications.

Application specifications include input power supply specifications as well as input & output signal specifications along with the allowable variations. Hence, these consist of the illustrations like current, voltage, resolution, span, indicator accuracy & so on.

Enclosure specifications include enclosure type material used for manufacturing, colors, standards, tests and design oriented considerations. For example, mechanical impact.

Environmental specifications consists of usage of EMI or EMC standards. They also comprise the salt spray, temperature and humidity conditions, level of bump and vibration testing and other tests which are carried out for corrosion testing. Hence, all these parameters belong to the category of an environmental specifications while the voltage and current parameters belong to the category of application specifications.
