    - The physical layer consists the basic networking hardware transmission technologies of a network.

    - It is a logical data structure of the higher level functions in a network.

    - The physical layer translates the logical communications request from the data link layer into hardware-specific operations that affect transmission of electronic signals

    - The physical layer defines the means of transmitting raw bits rather than logical data packets over a physical link connecting network nodes.

    - The Data link layer is the seventh-layer of the OSI model of computer networking. It provides data transfer across the physical link.

    - In the OSI model, data link layer protocols respond to service requests from the network layer and they perform their function by issuing service requests to the physical layer.
