Deadline of CCTNS project extended to 2017

Q.  Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), has approved a Home Ministry proposal to extend the deadline for implementation of Crime and Criminals Tracking network and Systems (CCTNS) project. What is the new deadline?

CCTNS will provide a number of citizen friendly services including police verification for passports, reporting a crime,linkage with UIDAI, National Population Register and transport database. A list of proclaimed offenders,sex offenders and most wanted criminals will also be published on this portal which will help law enforcing agencies as well as citizens.
