    - Buckling load or critical load can be determined by using Euler formula, J.B. Johnson formula and Rankine formula.

    - Euler was the first to predict buckling failure of long columns.

    - Euler formula: Pcr = (π2 E A) / ( Le / K)2

    here, A = cross-section area, E = modulus of elasticity, K = radius of gyration, Le = equivalent length

    - Equivalent length (Le) is calculated using the formula: (Le) = L / √C

    here, C = end fixity coefficient, L = actual length
