    - The process in which molten metal is poured into mould of desired shape and desired component is obtained is called as casting process.

    - The strength of casting components is decreased due to blow holes, gas cavities and non-metallic incursions.

    - In casting process, components having thickness less than 6 mm cannot be manufactured.
