Raza passed away on 23rd July at the age of 94. His rich use of colour and inspiration from Indian philosophy and cosmology has won many accolades
  • He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1981, the Padma Bhushan in 2007 and Padma Vibhushan in 2013.
  • He was also conferred with the Legion of Honour, France’s highest civilian honour in 2015.
  • His work Saurashtra fetched INR 16.42 crore at a Christie auction.
