  - Fiber optic cables are the transmission media that have the highest transmission speed in a network.
  
  - Fiber optic cable can carry more data because it has greater bandwidth than metal cables.
  
  - Data can be transmitted digitally. They are much thinner and lighter than metal wires.
  
  - Coaxial cables are the type of cable that is used by cable TV and that is common for data communications.
  
  - Twisted pair cable consists of two independently insulated wires twisted around one another. It helps to reduce crosstalk and electromagnetic induction.
