    - Fixtures are used for holding and supporting work securely in a fixed orientation with respect to the tool for accurate machining operation.

    - There some differences between jigs and fixtures.

    - Generally, jigs are used for drilling, reaming, tapping and counterboring operations whereas fixtures are used in connection with milling, turning, grinding, shaping, planing and boring operations.
