S. S. Tarapore, former RBI deputy governor has passed away on 2nd February 2016 in Mumbai at the age of 80. He joined RBI in 1961 as a Research Officer and retired from RBI in 1996. He chaired two committees on CAC and one on streamlining the RBI.
