- There are various shapes of grinding wheels for various grinding operations.
- The diagram shown above is of
saucer wheel.
It has a shape of saucer.
- Most common grinding wheel is disk wheel. It has a hole at the centre and both of its sides can be used.
- Rod shaped wheels are used for grinding piston rods or pins.
- Tapered edges dish shape wheel or disk shape wheel is used for grinding in restricted areas like wheel teeth.
