J&K government launches e-Prison project
The project will enumerate jail inmates in the State, where numbers of detainees keep swelling during unrest.
This project automates prison department of the state to avoid delays in processing the information and manage all the jails efficiently.
Under it, 25 district jails will be digitised along with two Central jails and one sub-jail in the state in the first phase.
In the second phase, the project will focus on videoconferencing between jails and prison headquarters, tele-medication, e-court in jails.
