    - In arc welding, metals to be joined are melted by the heat of electric arc.

    - But in brazing operation, metals are joined by applying an another molten metal called solder. This molten metal cannot hold the parts as strong as the melted metals in arc welding.

    - Therefore, brazing operation has a good joint strength but not as high as in gas or arc welding.

    - The brazing joints are not suitable for high temperature applications.

    - As a metal or solder other than the metals being joined is used in brazing, the joint may not match with the base metal.
