- The process of patenting is similar to austempering process. It differs in the range of temperature used for isothermal transformation.
- In this process, austenized steel is quenched in molten bath furnace and is maintained at temperature above or below the nose of TTT curve.
- Till the transformation is completed this temperature is maintained and later cooled to room temperature. Pearlite is obtained by the transformation of austenite.
