    - Material is neither added or removed in metal forming processes because in this process the metals are plastically deformed in hot or cold condition and the desired shape is obtained.

    - Different types of metal forming processes are forging, rolling, drawing and extrusion.

    - In surface finishing processes, material is removed but is considered negligible. This process is used to obtain good surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

    - In casting process, molten metal is poured into the mould of desired shape.

    - In machining process, material is removed to obtain the desired shape and component.
