    - Accurate measurement of major diameters can be determined by using NPL type bench micrometer.

    - In bench micrometer, fiducial indicator is used to measure pressure which is applied on the measurand. All measurements are measured at constant pressure by using fiducial indicator.

    - In bench micrometer, the micrometer is used as a comparator to avoid pitch errors, zero errors, etc.
