a. 10 years
b. 12 years
c. 14 years
d. 18 years

ANSWER: 12 years

Let son's age 6 years ago be X years. Then, Rohan's age 6 years ago = 4X years.
Son's age after 6 years = (X + 6) + 6 = (X + 12) years
Rohan's age after 6 years = (4X + 6) + 6 = (4X + 12) years
Therefore 2(X + 12) = 4X + 12
2X = 12
X = 6
Hence, son's present age = (X + 6) = 12 years
Rohan's present age = (4X + 6) = 30 years
