ANSWER: 9 years
 
Lets Ramesh's present age be x years. Then,
Ramesh's age after 16 years = (x + 16) years
Ramesh's age 4 years back = (x – 4) years
Therefore, x + 16 = 5(x – 4)
x+16 = 5x – 20
4x = 36
x = 9
Hence, Ramesh's present age = 9 years.
