Q.  The L.C.M. of two number is 60. The numbers are in the ratio 4 : 5. Find the sum of numbers.

ANSWER: 27
 
Let the numbers be 4x and 5x.
Then, their L.C.M. = 20x.
20x = 60 or x = 3.
The numbers are 12 and 15.
Hence, required sum = (12 + 15) = 27.
