The fluid friction is less in convergent portion of the nozzle as compared to divergent portion since the velocity of flow in convergent portion of the nozzle is small. Thus most of the friction occurs only in divergent section.
Due to this friction in nozzle, some part of kinetic energy gets lost and converted into heat. Thus, reheating of the steam is occurred due to nozzle friction. It results in improving the quality of vapour at the exit.
