Coventry on 1st October 2015 honoured Ratan Tata with the highest award - Honorary Freeman of the City of Coventry. Since 1914, only 13 people have been conferred with the award.An Indian origin professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya, who founded the the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), also won the title along with Tata at University of Warwick in Coventry. In 2000, Ratan Tata, the Chairman Emeritus of TATA Group was awarded the Padma Bhushan. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in the year 2008.
