Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin on 21st Dec 2016 topped the ICC Test rankings.
This marks the second time 2 Indian players have topped the ICC rankings. In 1974, left-arm spinner Bishan Singh Bedi and leg-spinner Bhagwath Chandrasekhar were ranked one and two in the rankings, respectively.
Jadeja’s 10 wicket victory against England in the 20th Dec Test match in Chennai made him achieve second position in rankings. Performance earned him 66 points.
Ashwin topped the rankings.
Also, Jadeja gained one place in the recent rankings to reach a career-best third rank in the list of all-rounders, which is also led by Ashwin.
