    Velocity of flow is responsible for the transportation of fluid through the machine. The velocity of flow is the resultant of radial and axial components of the fluid velocity.

    This velocity of flow does not play any role in transfer of energy between the fluid and machine.

    Therefore, the transportation of fluid through the machine is the responsibility of axial and radial components of velocity.
