In the SECC, it is proposed to publish all the details collected except religion and caste of individual in the local areas in order to bring transparency and invite claims and objections. This list would further be placed before the Gram Sabha in rural areas and in Ward/Committee in urban areas. In order to allow such a process, the SECC is not being conducted under the Census Act and has been taken up as a separate exercise.
