    The maximum compression ratio per stage of axial flow compressors is 1.2 to 1.3 and the number of stages used are in the range of 8 to 20. This can result into attainable total compression ratio upto 20 with the discharge pressure reaching upto 400 bar.

    Therefore these axial flow compressors are only suitable for large volume flow rates ranging from 1200 m3/min to 42000 m3/min.

    Axial flow compressors are the example of steady flow compressor which is a rotary compressor.
